COPE resources continue to support engaging disaster preparedness learning for children in India. The Monaji Youth Club Crisis Management team recently delivered virtual workshops in Delhi and Bhubaneswar, reaching 75 children through interactive sessions based on the COPE Heatwaves book.

The sessions were facilitated by Aarushi, a MYC Crisis Management volunteer, and conducted in a blend of English and Hindi to ensure accessibility for all participating children. COPE materials were complemented by animated videos from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), India, helping bring key messages to life in a relatable and engaging way.

Additional sessions were held on 18 and 22 April with EBC Kids (ages 8–12), further strengthening children’s understanding of heatwave risks through interactive learning and COPE resources. A separate session in Delhi also focused on fire safety and wildfires, using the COPE Wildfires book and jingle to support simple, practical learning.

We are grateful to see COPE tools being used across different contexts to help children feel more prepared, aware, and confident in the face of hazards.
