From Storytelling to Resilience: COPE’s Journey Published!

As part of COPE’s 10th anniversary celebrations, we’re delighted to announce that our paper, “From Storytelling to Resilience: A Transdisciplinary Approach to Empowering Children in Disaster Risk Reduction,” has been published in the International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction.

Authored by Martha Keswick, Timothy Sim, Lina Suarez, Daniel Echeverri, Tamsin Mather and David Pyle, this paper reflects COPE’s decade-long mission to empower children in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). It demonstrates how storytelling, science and creativity can intersect to make resilience learning engaging, inclusive, and accessible for young audiences.

The paper further highlights COPE’s transdisciplinary model, which brings together DRR experts, UN agencies, NGOs, artists, and children themselves to produce free, multilingual resources that strengthen disaster preparedness and resilience in vulnerable communities all over the world.
