APMCDRR Recap: COPE Empowering Youth for Disaster Resilience
We had an incredible time at the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) in Manila, Philippines, from October 14-17!
We were honored to present how COPE is empowering youth for Disaster Resilience on the Ignite Stage.
In our session, “COPE Empowering Youth for Disaster Resilience”, Martha Keswick and Lina Suarez emphasized the critical role of equipping the next generation with the knowledge and tools they need to enhance disaster resilience.
The team, including Christine Messervy, had the opportunity to engage with attendees at our booth and present our materials and latest book, “Tsunamis,” developed in collaboration with UNDRR, the Hong Kong Observatory, the University of Oxford, and UNICEF. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Indian Ocean Tsunami, making this launch particularly meaningful.
Together, we can make a difference in building a safer, more prepared future for our youth.
Thank you to everyone who visited us and engaged in this vital conversation. Let’s continue to empower and inspire our communities!
