Giving COPE a Voice: Collaboration with The Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and Voice Talents

In Jan 2025, COPE signed a collaborative agreement with the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) to produce and distribute a series of animated, interactive digital versions of the COPE Disaster Series.

These eBooks, hosted on SUSS UniLEARN, enhance learner engagement by bringing to life the characters in the storybooks – through animation, music, voice-overs, as well as interactive quizzes and online activities. The eBooks are more than just stories—they are tools to help children understand risks, build confidence, and learn how to respond to disasters. And at the heart of them are the voices that make each story engaging, relatable, and real.

An inspiring group of voice talents—Daniel John (Narrator), Susan Ng (Grand Mistress Fu), Sia Chae (Ping), Matthew Bogaars (Ollie), Isla Mae Macfarlane (Candy), and Sigeda Kostantin (Eddy)—participated to bring COPE stories to life. Each of our voice talents brought something truly special to the project—their energy and passion for making a difference. Through their voices, COPE stories become more accessible and impactful for children around the world.

Their contribution goes far beyond recording lines; for example, Sia Chae, the voice of Ping in our COPE interactive books, was recently featured in the latest edition of the UWC school magazine, highlighting COPE.

Sia’s contribution didn’t stop at the recordings. She also donated COPE books to her school, helping more students learn how to stay safe and respond to disasters.

Her initiative is a powerful example of what happens when young people take ownership and lead with purpose.

Looking Ahead

This is just the beginning. With five eBooks now available, we look forward to expanding the platform with more books. Together, we are not just telling stories—we are building resilience, one story at a time.

A Special Thank You

On behalf of the COPE team and the SUSS UniLEARN team, we extend our thanks to every one of the voice talents. Thank you for lending your voice to this important mission. Your contribution will reach far beyond the studio and into classrooms, homes, and communities worldwide.

We are also deeply grateful to the SUSS team for their support, collaboration, and dedication in making this initiative possible.
