Bringing Disaster Risk Reduction to More Children — Now in Hindi!

We are thrilled to announce that the COPE Disaster Champions series is now available in Hindi, thanks to our wonderful collaboration with Words Rhythms Images (WRI) and their newly launched non-profit, WRITE Initiatives.

To mark this exciting milestone, a launch event took place on June 5th—World Environment Day—bringing together children, educators, and community members in Dehradun. The celebration featured cultural performances, a heartfelt skit by children, and the unveiling of the COPE Hindi editions. Some children even read aloud from the books, adding a personal and powerful touch to the evening.

Actress Radha Bhatt supported the launch of the Hindi editions of Floods, Earthquakes, and Landslides. Her presence brought warmth and inspiration to the event, which was filled with joy, excitement, and a strong commitment to building community resilience.

As part of this initiative, copies of the book were gifted to children in urban slum tuition centres run by the Aryan Group—ensuring these vital messages on disaster preparedness and environmental resilience reach those who need them most.

More is on the way!

A second school event is coming soon.
In July, WRI will begin a community video project with women and youth, using the Heatwaves book.
Malayalam translations are underway, with Wildfires and Storm Surges next!

Thank you to WRI, WRITE Initiatives, Radha Bhatt, and all local partners for helping us reach more communities in more languages. Together, we are building a more resilient future—one story at a time.
