🌊 Storytelling in Bangladesh: Empowering Kids with Tsunami Awareness
RIMES celebrated World Tsunami Awareness Day on November 11, 2024, by hosting an engaging educational program in Bangladesh to teach children about disaster risk reduction measures for tsunamis.
The event introduced participants to the COPE Tsunamis book through an interactive storytelling session, sparking enthusiasm as the children eagerly learned about hazards and preparedness strategies.
Following these sessions, the children expressed their understanding creatively during an arts and crafts activity, bringing their insights to life through drawings. It was inspiring to see their grasp of disaster preparedness reflected in their artwork!
As a memorable takeaway, each child received a printed copy of the COPE Tsunamis book, ensuring the kids would share the lessons learned at home and remember them.
