IIARRD celebrated Environment empowering kids in Argentina!
We are delighted to share another exciting update from Latin America!
IIARRD (Instituto Interamericano para la Reduccción del Riegos de Desastre) gave a risk management class to commemorate Environment Day last week at two rural primary schools in Castelli, a municipality in the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Students were engaged with the online classes and learned about basic disaster risk reduction knowledge and the hazard warning signs. These classes were part of science fair projects where students worked on the effects of El Niño and La Niña. In this province, students are very familiar with the issue of flooding.
COPE materials were included to make the sessions fun and engaging. More kids are learning how to be prepared for hazards with our books.
Thanks to IIARRD, Ms. Lorena, and Ms. Paola.
